Even the athletes themselves began entertaining the possibility of a familial connection over time. Inside Edition facilitated a DNA test to definitively determine their relationship status, reminiscent of similar cases where long-lost siblings have unexpectedly led parallel lives.

One of the most renowned instances involves the ‘Jim twins,’ identical siblings separated at birth and subsequently adopted separately, only to reunite later in life.

Upon their long-awaited reunion, they discovered shared passions, including a brother named Larry, a beloved childhood dog named Toy, a first spouse named Linda, and a second partner named Betty.

Even though they had unknowingly named their firstborn sons the same, shared preferences for beer and cigarettes, and lived eerily similar lives, hopes for a ‘Jim twins’ redux with the ‘Brady twins’ were dashed when DNA tests revealed they weren’t related despite their striking similarities.

The DNA test revealed their predominant similarity lay in their Germanic ancestry, both tallying 53 percent. However, apart from this, their profiles diverged, dismissing the notion of them being secret siblings.

While the dream of an extraordinary family reunion faded, the two Bradys found solace in meeting each other, affirming they remained connected as “brothers in a way.”

Encounters between doppelgängers, such as the Bradys, are surprisingly common. Evidently, every individual worldwide has approximately six lookalikes. The uncanny part here is the shared name, making their resemblance all the more eerie.
