Cher Lloyd in tears over pregnancy health diagnosis as she admits she ‘blames’ herself

Cher Lloyd has revealed that she experienced a moment of distress and shed tears upon receiving an unexpected diagnosis while pregnant with her second child. The former X Factor star, who gained fame on the singing competition in 2010, recently celebrated her 30th birthday alongside her husband, Craig Monk, and their first child. However, her joy was momentarily overshadowed when she received news of being diagnosed with gestational diabetes.

Taking to Instagram on July 31st, Cher candidly shared her feelings of fear and confusion after receiving the diagnosis. She expressed how she instantly blamed herself for the condition and began researching ways to manage it. She also used the opportunity to encourage others facing the same condition to seek help and advice.

Gestational diabetes is a type of high blood sugar that typically develops during the second or third trimester of pregnancy. While it usually disappears after childbirth, it can lead to certain complications, including an increased risk of premature birth, the baby growing larger than usual, and in rare cases, stillbirth.

In response to her post, fans and celebrity friends rallied around Cher, sending her well-wishes for the rest of her pregnancy. Cher had previously announced her second pregnancy in April, delighting her followers with an adorable video featuring an ultrasound scan and a knitted baby co-ord set.

This marks Cher’s second experience with announcing her pregnancy on Instagram, as she similarly revealed her first pregnancy in 2018 through a post featuring her baby bump and the joyous news of expecting her first child with Craig Monk.
