Google’s new shopping features will help you gain good deals

Google is rolling out several new shopping features designed to make it easier to find deals directly from search. When you search for products, Google now returns results that include coupon codes that you can copy and paste at checkout.

All products with available coupons will have a new ‘Special Offer’ badge in the top left corner of the thumbnail. Previously, Google only flagged items when they were on sale or when the price dropped, but this new badge makes it more obvious when a coupon is available. The search giant plans to roll out the feature to desktop and mobile in the “coming weeks.”

In addition to adding clippable coupons to Google Search, later this month Google will introduce a way to compare offers side-by-side on mobile. Instead of displaying a jumble of products when searching for an item, all products for sale are grouped into “offers” categories that can be expanded and browsed directly from the search results. Search will also show pricing information that Google already provides on the Shopping tab. This means that browsing the results will show relevant information about the product’s price history.

Google gradually incorporated the functionality of dedicated shopping sections into its search engine, putting them front and center for those who don’t remember clicking on adjacent tabs (aka me). Personally, I only use the Shopping tab when I can’t find a specific product directly via Google Search. prefer to shop on a particular retailer’s website).
