Paralympian Jody Cundy’s Bittersweet Strictly Exit

Jody Cundy expressed mixed emotions about his departure from Strictly Come Dancing, describing it as a “bittersweet” experience. The Paralympian, hailing from Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, and his dance partner Jowita Przystal became the fourth couple to exit the popular show. For the second consecutive week, they found themselves at the bottom of the week four leaderboard with a score of 19.

Despite the disappointment, Cundy revealed that he cherished every moment on Strictly and admitted to missing it already. Their salsa performance to “Samba de Janeiro” by Bellini placed them in the dance-off against Eddie Kadi and Karen Hauer.

Reflecting on his Strictly journey, the 45-year-old, an eight-time gold medalist at the Summer Paralympics with 23 World Championships titles to his name, mentioned that he appreciated being in the public eye outside of his Paralympian attire. Coming directly from the World Championships, where he secured gold and silver medals, Cundy saw this as an opportunity to raise awareness of the Paralympics and the remarkable accomplishments of Paralympic athletes.

He shared his enthusiasm for the glitz, spray tans, and costumes associated with Strictly, acknowledging the remarkable work done by the wardrobe and makeup teams. Looking ahead, Cundy emphasized his commitment to strengthening his cycling skills in preparation for the World Championships in Rio in March. He hopes for a successful campaign that might earn him a ticket to compete in the Paralympics in Paris.

Conclusion:

Paralympian Jody Cundy shares his bittersweet experience of being the fourth contestant to leave Strictly Come Dancing, alongside dance partner Jowita Przystal.
