Apple Co-Founder Steve Wozniak, 73, Allegedly Faints During Mexico City Business Conference


Multiple reports suggest that Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak is currently hospitalized in Mexico. The cause of his hospitalization remains undisclosed. The 73-year-old was attending the World Business Forum (WBF) in Mexico City when the incident occurred, where an unnamed source from the WBF reportedly stated that Mr. Wozniak fainted during the conference on Wednesday afternoon, as per the CNN news website.

Widely recognized as “Woz” in the tech industry, Mr. Wozniak is a seasoned Silicon Valley figure, known for co-founding Apple alongside Steve Jobs in 1976 and inventing the first Apple computer. Apple subsequently became the world’s most valuable company.

In March, he co-signed a letter with Elon Musk calling for a pause in the development of powerful artificial intelligence (AI) models, expressing concerns about AI regulation during a May 2023 interview . He expressed his apprehension that AI could be exploited by “bad actors” and voiced skepticism about the ability of regulators to effectively address these issues, noting that financial interests often dominate such discussions.
