The Office Reboot: Everything We Know

In today’s digital era, the value of paper is diminishing more than ever. It served as a source of humor for nine seasons on NBC’s “The Office,” one of the most successful sitcoms in history. It has also sparked a massive fan campaign for a revival, and while a sequel series may not be in the works, it appears that the long-anticipated reboot is finally on the horizon. Cue the “Michael Scott It’s Happening” GIF.

Reboot

This news comes as one of the first significant developments following a tentative agreement over the weekend between the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and major Hollywood studios. According to a report by Matthew Belloni of Puck News, Greg Daniels, the creator of “The Office,” is currently in the process of working on a reboot of the beloved series. While casting details are yet to be revealed, several actors, including John Krasinski (Jim), Jenna Fischer (Pam), Angela Kinsey (Angela), Leslie David Baker (Stanley), and Creed Bratton (Creed), have expressed their willingness to return over the years. Krasinski, reflecting on his time on the show, once said, “The Office was absolutely everything to me… So yeah, if they did a reunion, I would absolutely love to do it.”

Daniels had previously hinted at the show’s potential return in February 2022 during an interview with Collider. He mentioned, “The Office was such a wonderful and rare experience that obviously you don’t want to just go back to it and possibly disappoint people when right now, they couldn’t be happier about it. I think it would just be an extension of the universe, you know, like how ‘The Mandalorian’ is an extension of ‘Star Wars.'”

So, does this mean we might see Dwight Schrute donning Mandalorian armor? Count me in.
