Tesla Inc. CEO Elon Musk reacted to a Twitter post that downplayed his role in the early days of the automaker.
Musk’s response was to a post by @SamTwits who said the post shared on Twitter was “misleading.”
Broe said, “Elon was just a series-A investor who bought in, then sabotaged the company enough until these men were pushed out, then he spent the next ten years telling everyone he founded Tesla.”
Musk noted that he was “head of product and led the design of the original Roadster.”
He said, “Eberhard was wealthy and could have risked his money, but was unwilling to do so.”
The billionaire entrepreneur said the Art Center College of Design awarded him an “honorary degree” for his work on the original Tesla Roadster.
Musk also credited the company with using his trademark and later obtaining his URL.
In April, Musk said, “I wish I hadn’t met Eberhardt,” calling him “pure poison.”
Eberhardt founded Tesla with Tarpenning in 2003, and Musk served as chairman and CEO until 2007.
Musk has previously denied claims that he “stole” Tesla from Eberhard, and said no one was with him when he was fired in mid-2007, which says it all increase.
At the time, Musk questioned the Wikipedia entries for Eberhardt’s role, calling them “sketchy.”
