Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb had to be carted off the field during the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night due to a left knee injury. This injury occurred following a 5-yard run near the Steelers’ goal line in the second quarter, leading to his immediate removal from the game. Chubb had already accumulated 64 yards on 10 carries at that point and had previously injured the same knee in 2015, causing damage to his MCL, PCL, and LCL.
As Chubb was loaded onto the cart, players from both teams showed their support by offering gestures of encouragement. Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski expressed his expectation that Chubb would likely be sidelined for the remainder of the season.
Various quarterbacks and running backs from around the league were among the first to react to Chubb’s injury on social media. It’s worth noting that Steelers’ All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, who was involved in tackling Chubb, also experienced some discomfort during the play but later returned to the game.
