Search Underway for Missing 9-Year-Old Charlotte Sena in NY State Park

Over 100 individuals are actively searching for 9-year-old Charlotte Sena, who disappeared while on a camping trip at Moreau Lake State Park in upstate New York, according to Governor Kathy Hochul. On Saturday evening, Charlotte was biking with friends, and on her last loop, she wanted to ride alone. Her absence was noticed within 15 minutes, leading to immediate search efforts by her family and other campers. She was reported missing to the authorities shortly after.

Charlotte was last spotted in an orange tie-dyed Pokémon shirt, dark blue trousers, black Crocs, and a grey bike helmet. Described as a white female with blonde hair, green eyes, and standing approximately 4’6” tall. An AMBER alert was declared on Sunday morning.

State agencies, for over 18 hours, have deployed various resources, including aviation, underwater rescue teams, bloodhounds, drones, and tech experts to assist in the search. Charlotte’s uncle, a member of the Schenectady Fire Department, is also aiding the efforts.

Governor Hochul emphasized the thoroughness of the search and urged anyone with information to contact 911. Charlotte, a fourth-grader recently elected as a class officer for the student council, is dearly missed.

Governor Hochul expressed the collective sorrow of the state, hoping for a favorable outcome. Moreau Lake State Park, encompassing over 4,600 acres, is situated in Saratoga County, about 45 miles north of Albany. The park has been temporarily closed, as stated in its recent Facebook post.
