Netball Australia (NA) Chief Executive Kelly Ryan has resigned in the aftermath of a recent agreement to resolve a prolonged pay dispute in the Super Netball League. The players in the league had not received payment since their contracts expired in September, causing financial hardship.
The deal includes an 11% pay increase and a higher share of competition revenue for the players. Stacey West, NA’s Executive General Manager for Performance, will assume the role of acting Chief Executive. The pay dispute has also impacted Super Netball franchises, preventing them from contracting players for the upcoming season, which starts in April.
