Lori Vallow Daybell, an Idaho mother, has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, the maximum sentence, for the gruesome killings of her two youngest children, Joshua “JJ” Vallow, 7, and Tylee Ryan, 16, as well as the conspiracy to commit murder of her husband’s former wife, Tammy Daybell. The bodies of JJ and Tylee were discovered more than three years ago in her husband’s backyard in rural eastern Idaho.
The sentencing includes three consecutive life sentences for the first-degree murder charges of JJ and Tylee and the conspiracy to commit murder of Tammy Daybell. The judge stated that Vallow Daybell should be held accountable separately for each of the three murders. Additionally, she received life in prison without parole for two charges of conspiracy to commit murder of her own children. Furthermore, a 10-year prison sentence was given for a grand theft charge, which will run concurrently with the three murder charges. The court’s decision marks the end of a long and tragic legal process surrounding these heinous crimes.
