Angus Cloud of ‘Euphoria’ died of an accidental drug overdose, coroner says


“Euphoria” actor Angus Cloud’s cause of death has been confirmed as an accidental overdose resulting from a deadly combination of drugs, according to the Alameda County Coroner’s Bureau. The 25-year-old rising star passed away in July at his family’s residence in Oakland, California.

The coroner’s report revealed that Cloud had a lethal mixture of methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, and benzodiazepines in his system. Prior to his untimely death, Cloud’s family had mentioned his struggles with grief after losing his father. Their initial statement acknowledged his ongoing mental health challenges.

Cloud’s mother, Lisa, later clarified that she didn’t believe her son had intended to take his own life and shared details about their final conversation. They discussed his plans to provide financial support to his mother and sisters in the wake of his father’s passing. Lisa recounted how they shared a hug, and Angus expressed his intention to see her in the morning.

Angus Cloud’s passing was a shock to both his colleagues and his fans. Known for his charisma and comedic talent, he gained fame through his role as Fezco on the HBO teen drama series “Euphoria.” In the show, Fezco is portrayed as a teenage drug dealer with a compassionate side, taking care of his grandmother and adoptive brother, Ashtray.

Cloud’s ability to infuse humor into the show’s dark themes, for which “Euphoria” is known, was complemented by his strong dramatic acting. Fans formed a deep connection with his character’s meaningful relationships on the series. In the upcoming second season, viewers were eagerly anticipating a budding romantic relationship between Cloud’s character and Maude Apatow’s character, Lexi.

As Cloud’s interviews and public appearances continued, fans noticed how his demeanor increasingly resembled Fezco’s stoic mannerisms.
