Noodle, a pug TikTok star known for predicting sleep and mood for the day, died Friday at the age of 14.
New York City resident Jonathan Graziano used TikTok to share the news with his 4.4 million followers the next day.
“This is incredibly sad. It’s incredibly difficult. It’s a day that I always knew was coming but never thought would arrive,” Graziano said teary-eyed.
Graziano said Noodle died in his arms at his home.
“I want to encourage you to celebrate him while we’re navigating this sadness. He lived 14 and half years, which is about as long as you can hope a dog can and he made millions of people happy. What a run,” Graziano said.
Noodle was winning over the internet with his nearly daily video of the game “No Bones”. Graziano lifted the noodle out of bed and warned that if the pug fell again it would be boneless day and people should relax and avoid risks. I advised him to indulge himself.
Graziano and Noodle took a break from regular video posting in late September. Citing Noodle’s condition as substandard, Graziano said the many trips had exhausted him and Noodle.
“He’s doing good, not great,” he said on Sept. 28 on Instagram. “We’re working on something great, but we’re doing a little recalibration here.”
The next day he wrote: “He’s 14 ¼ yrs old and as many of you know A LOT comes with that kind of age. We’re just navigating some of the ‘a lot’ right now.”
Noodle, whom Graziano adopted at the age of seven and a half, was always unprepared to decide whether the day was “bone day” or “boneless day” or a day to go for a walk. The fans have tuned in.
He will be missed.
