Eurovision 2023: Every song from Albania to the UK hits the top

The countdown has begun. This Friday, there are 40 days until Eurovision Week starts with the ‘turquoise carpet’ in Liverpool.

All 37 songs were submitted, along with comments on everything from The Devil to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

As always, quality is like a barrel of jelly, but there are some gems in the inevitable powerful ballad charge.

Below is a serious attempt to make them.
There’s no doubt you won’t agree, and that’s an excuse for belittling someone I love. But that’s the beauty of Eurovision: everyone has a say and my opinion is not more important than anyone else’s. (Also, I have a very bad winning record, so here it is.)
