Viewers urge Netflix to add a trigger warning at the start of horrifying new film

Viewers who have seen Netflix’s new blockbuster demand to place a trigger alert at startup.

Streaming Some people who watched Luckiest Girl Alive on her service say they should be made aware that the film contains very graphic content.

Based on Jessica Noll’s 2015 novel of the same name, the film follows the glamorous Ani (Mila Kunis) and her seemingly perfect life.

But all is not as it seems, as the truth about her horribly and emotionally vulnerable teenage years begins to surface.

Here’s a spoiler and trigger warning for those who haven’t seen it yet.

Viewers learn that Ani survived a horrific school shooting and was raped by a group when she was just 14 years old.

The film chronicles the backlash and cruel bullying she suffered after her attack, but her peers and the adults around her do not believe what happened to her.

But when the old spirits emerge from the woodwork, they begin to examine their lives and see if everything is really as it seems on the surface. It contains so realistic and graphic scenes of rape and violence that many viewers on social media have turned to Netflix for trigger warnings.
