A bar owner who used to serve Jeffrey Dahmer has shared his thoughts on the new Netflix series. Check out the trailer if you haven’t already:

Bob Weiss runs Shaker’s Cigar Bar in Milwaukee, where the notorious serial killer went to drink during his serial killer spree.

Dahmer said he began going to bars for several months before he was finally arrested in 1991.

Interest in Dahmer and his heinous crimes has increased in recent weeks following the release of his new ten-part Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.

The chilling series stars Evan Peters as the killer, and critics and fans alike praised his performance.

Bob says the show isn’t perfect, but he has one scene where Peters captures the “monster” perfectly.

Bob tells LADbible: I thought, but when I saw the first episode, my eyes glanced. And I thought there was a connection here.

“If he’s staring at Glenda Cleveland, yes. It’s a vignette of that first kind, shoves something at him and he turns around and it’s a monster right there.

However , like everything else, Bob has some notes about the series and Peters’ performance:

“There was a problem with the language,” he says. “I think it was like ‘you guys’.” I mean, suddenly we’re in Jersey or something? So maybe we had a vocal coach or manager or someone who could do it a little better.

“I also think you posted the other day after watching all 10 episodes that 219 was never a black club, it was a black gay club. It was a gay club, it was a gay dance club. And He says Dahmer was found a mile away.

“This guy came in in January of 1991 and he wasn’t that kind of person. He just seemed out of place. He was misbehaving and just staring at the staff.

” Our company is 95% female and he wouldn’t let female bartenders or waiters drink, he always insisted that either me or the sous chef would come out of the kitchen and make a gin and tonic was doing.

“There was really no conversation, but I will never forget his eyes. They were bored with you. They were dead, but bored at the same time.”

“It was very oppressive.

Shaker’s now runs the Cream City Cannibal Tour, where tour guides lead tourists through local neighborhoods and follow in the footsteps of the Dahmer.

Jeffrey Dahmer’s real-life apartment is frighteningly similar to the remake on Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story. Watch below to see a rare look at his apartment:

The Netflix series follows the prolific serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, who was convicted of murdering 17 men and boys between 1978 and 1991 and was beaten to death by fellow inmates in 1994. chasing the story

The producers have done a good job of giving viewers a real glimpse into Dahmer’s life. This didn’t just decorate his ominous apartment.

Dahmer was famous not only as a murderer, but also as a cannibal. This element was not avoided in the series.
The
murderer once explained why he started eating his victims in a 1993 interview with Inside Edition.

“Fork out, that’s when the cannibalism started, eating heart and arm muscles. It was a way of making me feel like they were part of me.” It chills me to the bone. He knew exactly what he was doing and why he was doing it. That’s the scariest part. “

said another. The cold, far-fetched way he describes it…is terrifying.”

Netflix removes LGBTQ tag on Jeffrey Dahmer series

Netflix has removed the LGBTQ tag on its new Jeffrey Dahmer series following a backlash.

Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story – a dramatisation of the crimes of the prolific serial killer and cannibal who killed 17 men and boys between 1978 and 1991 – has caused quite a stir since it dropped on the streaming service.

Beyond the usual concerns about rehashing and romanticising the crimes of heinous individuals, the fact it was categorised under Netflix’s LGBTQ tag raised a lot of eyebrows.

On TikTok, one person wrote said: “This is not the representation we’re looking for.”

Another TikToker said she was ‘livid’ and ‘flabbergasted’ about the tag, highlighting that the show was tagged as both ‘LGBTQ’ and ‘Horror’.

Highlighting the LGBTQ tag, she said it ‘associates us with a literal serial unaliver, cannibal, amongst other things I’m not sure I can say on this app’.

She added: “Jeffrey Dahmer is not the queer representation that we want, asked for, need – nothing.”

As for the horror tag, she said: “I feel like horror implies a certain level of fiction and whimsy that is entirely non-existent and inappropriate for this situation.”

Though Dahmer and his crimes have been explored in many documentaries, films, books, and news articles, one detail that is often overlooked is the fact that many of his victims were LGBTQ+ people of colour (POC).

It’s perhaps this reason why Netflix tagged the show under its LGBTQ content – though whatever the reason, it clearly didn’t go down well with the viewers.

Over on Twitter, the fury was just as prevalent, with one writing: “No way they put an LGBTQ tag on the new Dahmer series like PLEASE.”

Another added: “If I need to stay in my lane absolutely tell me but anyone else think it’s pretty gross of Netflix to list Dahmer under LGBTQ, especially when the True Crime tag would have worked?”

Another quipped: “Guys my favourite LGBTQ series on Netflix is: Rupaul’s Drag Race, Dahmer, and Queer Eye.”

Netflix appears to be heeding the criticism as the 10-episode series is no longer labeled as LGBTQ.

LADbible reached out to Netflix for comment.

The synopsis of this program is as follows. “Between 1978 and 1991, Jeffrey Dahmer suffered from the systemic racism and institutional police failures that allowed one of America’s most notorious serial killers to carry out his crimes. and brutally took the lives of 17 innocent victims and their communities, his “serial murder in front of everyone for more than a decade.”

Jeffrey Dahmer would sit on exact same barstool for very specific reason

Nearly 30 years after his death, the spirit of Jeffrey Dahmer lives on in Milwaukee.

A notorious serial killer prowls the streets and nightclubs, picking up and massacring unsuspecting men.

He would often drug his victims in his apartment before dismembering them and eating body parts such as his heart and arm muscles.

One of his favorite spots is Shakers Cigar His Bar at Walkers His Point, known for its vibrant nightlife.

Bob Weiss says he has run the bar since 1986, and Dahmer started drinking there months before he was arrested for the attempted murder of Tracy Edwards.

In an interview with LADbible, Bob says Dahmer “looked out of place” from the moment he entered.

“In 1991, in January, this guy would start walking in and he was none of those things. He just looked out of place. He didn’t comport himself well, and he would just kind of glare at the staff.”

He goes on: “We are 95 percent female employees, and he would not let the female bartenders or servers get him a drink. He was always adamant that myself or my sous chef would come out of the kitchen to make him his gin and tonic.

“There was really no conversation, but I will never forget his eyes, they would just bore into you. They were dead and yet gimlets at the same time.

“It was a very disconcerting feeling. I could close my eyes and still see them.”

Another thing he noticed was that Dahmer would always sit on the exact same stool every time he visited the bar.

Bob recalls: “So we didn’t know his name, didn’t know anything about him, but he would find one barstool.

“And there were wooden stools of the same historical type on the front and back bars, but one was a little taller.

“He was slightly better than everyone else. I think I used a slightly higher chair because I felt the need to stand on it.”

He adds: Perhaps you wanted to create a “zombie” to control your victims in the same way. ”

Known as one of America’s busiest bars for the past decade, Shaker’s hosts the “Cream City Cannibal” tour, where tour guides take visitors to local neighborhoods and follow in Dahmer’s footsteps. increase.

Although he’s been criticized for this in the past, Bob says it’s important to remind people of the dark side of life.

he said: It’s inappropriate, but life is inappropriate. And sometimes you just need a little refresher or awakening to how ugly things can be.

“I don’t mean to give people a nightmare, but the reality is that life is painful, ugly, and harsh, and we should be as conscious as possible not to fall victim to people like this.”
