Johnny Depp, 60, RETURNS as the face of Dior Sauvage after eye-watering ‘$20M payday’

The 60-year-old actor from “Pirates Of The Caribbean” has made an appearance in a new commercial called “The Call Of The Blazing Sun” for Dior’s fragrance, Sauvage. In the moody clip, he discusses eagles, the sky, dry wood, and the cold wind.

Dior described him as “bold and powerful,” stating that he embodies the essence and soul of Sauvage. The brand also referred to him as “fearless.”

Johnny Depp looked striking in his black attire, complete with silver jewelry and long flowing hair. The former partner of Vanessa Paradis reportedly renewed his contract with the French company for a staggering $20 million earlier this year.

In the ad, he wore a black button-down vest over a black collared shirt with silver chains adorning his chest. Johnny paired this with black coated denim jeans featuring silver buttons on the pockets. He appeared to be wearing some eyeliner, reminiscent of his “Pirates Of The Caribbean” character, Jack Sparrow, and sported a deep Malibu tan. His well-groomed facial hair included a mustache and a scruffy goatee.

Christian Dior shared the advertisements on social media.

Back in May, it was reported that Johnny Depp would continue as the face of Dior Sauvage, signing a three-year contract valued at over $20 million. This deal potentially makes him the highest-paid male fragrance spokesperson in history, exceeding Robert Pattinson’s earnings for Dior Homme and Brad Pitt’s $7 million deal with Chanel No. 5.

Sources mentioned that most A-listers with fragrance deals typically earn between $2 million to $4 million per year. Johnny Depp first became the face of Sauvage in 2015 and continued to work with Dior despite his legal battles with Amber Heard.

Dior stood by Depp during his trials, and Sauvage’s sales reportedly increased, becoming one of their top-selling fragrances online.

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard were married from 2015 to 2017, during which time Heard accused him of physical abuse and sexual assault, allegations he denied. Legal battles ensued, including a defamation case filed by Depp against Heard for an op-ed she wrote in The Washington Post.

Their trials concluded with a settlement in December, with Depp receiving $1 million from Heard’s insurance company. Heard expressed her disillusionment with the American legal system following the settlement.
