Jeffrey Dahmer’s father wants to sue Netflix for glorifying his son’s gruesome murders

Lionel Dahmer, the aging father of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, is considering suing Netflix over two of its breakout series about his son’s gruesome murder.

Lionel, 86, is reportedly upset that he hasn’t been contacted about the popular Netflix series Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, which was released in September, according to a report in the US Sun.

Lionel is also annoyed that Netflix has never asked permission to use the tape recordings from his son’s legal team which was used in the other documentary, Jeffrey Dahmer docuseries, Conversations with a Killer: The Jeffrey Dahmer Tapes.

Both series re-enchanted the Milwaukee cannibal who murdered 17 boys and men between 1978 and 1991 before his arrest.

Jeffrey is so popular in the new show that some people even dress up as him for Halloween.

Lionel Dahmer has been living quietly in rural Ohio.

The Sun reported that he refused to speak after the release of the Netflix series, but he was reportedly a “nervous wreck” as fans of his son showed up at his house.

Dahmer’s assistant, who wanted to be known as Jeb, also told the outlet that due to the sudden intense interest, he decided to arm himself for protection.

“Lionel was not contacted about either of these shows on Netflix,” he told the Sun outlet , from what he personally saw.

Jeb said, “I’ve personally talked to a few lawyers, and we’ve talked to his publisher about it too due to all the chaos that is going on and the stories we’ve seen,”

“Lionel and his power of attorney are gathering information and looking at a possible lawsuit against the production team or possibly Netflix.”

Lionel Dahmer made headlines after his son was arrested for the gruesome murder in 1991.

He published his 1994 memoir A Father’s Story about his son. It was months before Dahmer was beaten to death in prison by another inmate, Christopher Scarver.

In the book, he recalls not knowing that his son was a murderer before he was arrested.

Jeb further told the Sun that he hasn’t watched the newest Netflix series in its entirety, but he feels that Lionel, who was a “very caring father,” was not portrayed justly.

“He thinks that none of this should have been made. All the information that needs to be public is right there in his book. Everything else is just glamorised and provides attention to details that aren’t proven fact.”

He added: “When I asked Lionel what he wanted me to tell people, he said: ‘Everything I have to say is in my book.’ But that’s as far as he goes.”

Jeb went on to tell The Sun that he hasn’t fully watched the latest Netflix series, but feels that Lionel, who was “a very caring dad,” isn’t portrayed fairly.

Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer developed by American Horror Story is the second most popular Netflix show after season 4 of Stranger Things.
