I’m A Celebrity winner named after Sam Thompson, Tony Bellew and Nigel Farage made final

An average audience of 6.6 million viewers watched the finale of this year’s “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!” in which Made In Chelsea star Sam Thompson was crowned king of the jungle. Despite overnight ratings being lower than the previous year’s, consolidated figures reveal that episodes have generally attracted audiences of well over eight million, maintaining the show’s status as one of ITV’s most popular programmes. Thompson, known for his positive personality, emerged as the bookmakers’ favourite and secured 56.6% of the vote. The reality star’s victory marked a culmination of his engaging and upbeat presence throughout the series.

The final three contestants included Thompson, former heavyweight boxer Tony Bellew, and former UKIP and Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage. Thompson’s popularity was evident in his vote share and his ability to win over viewers with his infectious positivity, despite facing challenging bushtucker trials.

The show’s success this year followed a controversial period involving former Health Secretary Matt Hancock and Nigel Farage as participants. The increased media interest in the 2022 series contributed to a higher overall audience compared to the previous year.

The victory for Sam Thompson in the “I’m A Celebrity” finale further solidifies the show’s enduring popularity, even as presenters Ant and Dec expressed the idea of a year without politicians in the lineup in the future.
