In an Instagram post, she clarified, “Let’s be clear: most of these news stories are garbage!!! They keep claiming I’m reaching out to various songwriters for a new album… I have no plans to reenter the music industry!!!”
Some sources had hinted at potential collaborations with Julia Michaels and Charlie XCX. However, Spears emphasized that she only writes music for enjoyment. She also disclosed having penned over 20 songs for others in the last two years.
“I prefer being a ghostwriter and genuinely find joy in that role!!!” asserted the singer, renowned for hits like Baby One More Time, Oops!… I Did It Again, and Toxic.
