Colleen Rooney has provided further insights into her investigation, often referred to as the "Wagatha Christie" inquiry, that took place in 2019. Rooney suspected Rebekah Vardy of leaking private information about her to the press due to Vardy's previous association with The Sun. She was also aware that her friends in Liverpool were unlikely to cooperate with The Sun because of the city's long-standing boycott of the newspaper. Vardy denied the allegations and filed a libel lawsuit against Rooney, which she ultimately lost.
