NEW YORK — (AP) — Actor Jonathan Majors was arrested in New York on Saturday for strangulation, assault and battery, and harassment, authorities said.
Majors, star of “Tenet III” and “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum of Fury,” was involved in a domestic dispute with a 30-year-old woman, New York police say. Police responded to a 911 call to an apartment in the Manhattan neighborhood of Chelsea around 11 a.m.
“The victim informed police that she was assaulted,” an NYPD spokesperson said in a statement. “Officers were able to apprehend the 33-year-old man. The victim sustained minor head and neck injuries and was taken to the area hospital in stable condition.”
He was no longer in custody Saturday night, an NYPD spokesperson confirmed to The Associated Press.

Majors is one of the fastest growing stars in Hollywood. Following his breakthrough in 2019’s ‘The Last Black Man in San Francisco’, Majors starred in ‘The Five’, ‘Down Deeper’ and ‘Devotion’ last year. He also starred in the recent Sundance finalist “Magazine Dreams,” which will be released by Searchlight Pictures in December.
